How well is Asana Yoga?
how well will it get me into shape.. is it one of the good types of yoga? I am already pretty skinny but i want to be more toned and muscular. haha i also want to know if it will give you a good butt cause that would be awwesssomme:) i have been doing a lot of situps but idk they dont feel like there doing anything anymore maybe its just cause im used to them

i think u shld eat properly cuz u need to have muscles to get toned !!! aasanas are really good and i d only suggest u to do tht !! google some assanas and consult with an instructor and strt practicing thm …. in addition also do breathing excercises …. thts used to release toxins frm ur body !!
is there any yoga or asana for treatment of musculoskeletal chest pain?
i just want to know what is musculoskeletal chest pain and what r the causes of that as i m 29 and two days before i went to doctor for chest pain he did ECG & other test & conclude that its musculoskeletal chest pain if it is so i just want to know wether it can be cure with the help of yoga and what are the asana for the same
There are many asanas for it. One id gomukh asana, second is dhanur asana, you can even lift your hands up standing straight with feet appart and bend down side ways, slowly and repeat it on the other. Do not over strain. Be slow and you will get rid of the pain.

Asana is Sanskrit for "seat". It is no accident that this word be chosen to describe the "posture" of Yoga. The idea of the "seat" in this context refers not only to the physical position of the body, but to the position of the spirit in relation to Divinity. This idea is often referred to as the "One Seat", by Yogis and Buddhists alike.
Conditions & general directions for asana practice.
In the Yoga Sutra, Patanjali suggests that the only requirements for asana is that it be "steady and comfortable". The body should be held firm, relaxed, and the practitioner should not experience discomfort of any kind. Tightness or tension observed within the body should be consciously relaxed. Breathing should be natural, through the nose and into the belly. This abdominal breathing pranayama is called ujjayi (pr., oo-JI-ya), or the "ocean breath". Ujjayi means "lifted up".
Before Performing Asana ..You should try these tips..
* A glass of fresh water should be taken before performing asanas.
* Stomach should be empty. Asana can be performed 8 hours after a meal, 2 hours after a glass of milk and one hour after eating fruit.
* Always perform asana early in the morning. If this is not possible,the next best time would be evening, around dusk.
* Rich, very dry, left-overs, very hot or too much food should be avoided.
* Force or pressure should not be used while performing asana.
* One must not go out in the cold after performing asana.
* Lower the head and other parts of the body slowly; in particular, raised heels should be lowered slowly.
* The breathing should be controlled and always through the nose. The benefits of asana increase if pranayama is performed simultaneously.
* If the body is stressed, perform savasana (corpse pose).
* Asana should be performed in a well-lit, clean and ventilated room. The atmosphere should be peaceful.
* Light physical exercises, followed by asana, pranayama and meditation is the ideal sequence.
Does Dhanurasana(yoga asana) helps in quick weight reduction?
I have huge bb`s,,Somebody say me any other method to reduce huge bb`s?
Not really. Though it will help you in staying fit.
For quick weight reduction, you will have to take multiple steps at once. Like:
- Balanced diet
- Exercise, including Yoga
- Special weight reducing foods/suppliments
- Water therapy

Instructions
1. From High Lunge pose (with left foot forward), step the back leg forward enough to straighten both legs. Keep the back foot flat on the floor with the toes facing forward.
2. Round the spine pressing the forehead towards the left knee, press into the heels and press the back of the knees towards the back wall.
3. Breathe and hold for 3-8 breaths.
4. To release: either step the right foot back and bend the left knee into lunge, or inhale the arms out and up with both legs straight.
5. Repeat on other side.
Benefits + Contraindications
Benefits: Pyramid pose deeply stretches the backs of the legs and improves balance, mental functions and circulation.
Contraindications: Recent or chronic injury to the hips, back or shoulders.
